Cheerful spirit from the Opening Seminar of My Website My Profile 2019

May 13, 2019 - 10:50

Being inspired! Surprised! Hopeful! These were the experience beyond the expectations of the organizers when participating the Seminar of Search Talent Design Website 2019 My Website – My Profile last Saturday at British Vietnamese International School Hanoi BVIS.

Students from more than 20 teams came to register and collect the program information. The children were especially touched when they heard Ms. Han Tran, former United Nations Specialist, sharing on the theme of the program – United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): “While we are sometimes complaining when having to go to school, many young people do not have the opportunity to go to school. Many people believe that solving social inequality is the job of world leaders. But no, we ourselves, with our own senses and efforts, can make the first bricks for that change”.

Co-founder, Education Director of TEKY Creative Academy, Mr. Le Quang Tuan, in the seminar also discussed the role of technology in our life. “When I went abroad, visited many developed countries, I witnessed many students who have acquired technology and applied technology to make changes for the community. And I, as an educator, believes, you can do the same. ” All information about the contest rules, how to evaluate products has also been shared by students Le Quang Tuan. Many teams have thoroughly learned the rules of this year’s program and actively asked questions to the Organizing Committee at the seminar.
In the workshop, teachers from TEKY STEAM Academy help the attendees with technical supports. They practiced step by step the creation of a simple website on WordPress platform and go through the sequence of actions when registering as well as submitting the product. These are all basic skills for contest teams to execute the completion and submission of products.
This is the first year of My Website – My Profile competition organized under the expectation of encouraging the young to study and apply technology in sustainable development. Recalling the opening speech of the seminar given by Mr. Mark Sayer, Principal of British Vietnamese International School in Hanoi: “The ultimate goal of learning is not only achievement or degree. Most importantly, students need to understand how that knowledge can contribute to themselves and make changes for the world around them.”
Wish the teams all the best with the exciting journey ahead!
